Bryan Caraway vs Mitch Gagnon fight likely for UFC 149 in Calgary
Strikeforce female champion Ronda Rousey will have to wait a little while longer to beat up on the boyfriend of Miesha Tate.
That's because Mr. Tate Bryan Caraway has been booked to take on Mitch Gagnon in a Bantameight bout scheduled to take place at UFC 149 from the ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on July 22, 2012.
"Showdown Joe" passed along the pending fight announcement earlier this afternoon.
Caraway is fresh off a submission win in his Octagon debut, strangling Dustin Neace with a rear naked choke at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 Finale in Dec. 2011. "Kid Lightning" was bounced off the TUF show in the semifinals by eventual tournament winner, Diego Brandao, via knockout.
Gagnon, a Canadian, was supposed to make his debut for the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion against Johnny Bedford at UFC on Fox 2 earlier this year; however, visa issues forced the cancelation of the bout. He is a submission specialist who has finished his last six opponents via tapout. In fact, all of his eight professional career victories have come via submission.
UFC 149 is expected to feature a main event that includes Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo against a soon-to-be-announced opponent. No other bouts are scheduled for the UFC 149 fight card at this time.

Glover Teixeira set to Make UFC Debut this Summer
Glover Teixeira finally seems to be heading to the UFC. The light heavyweight prospect has not lost since his 2005 bout with Ed Herman. MMAJunkie reports the Brazilian fighter will make his debut in early summer.
Teixeira is probably best-known for his appearance on the second season of TapouTÂ where he appeared in an episode featuring fighters from The Pit.
Teixeira was expected to make his UFC debut years ago but visa issues kept him out of the US for several years. The issues led him from moving from The Pit to Blackhouse’s Brazil location.
After resolving his visa issues this past December, Teixeira is looking to continue his winning ways in the UFC with the help of his old and new teams.
The Brazilian fighter combines powerful boxing with black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has only seen a decision three times in nineteen fights.

UFC 142: Visa issues force Stanislav Nedkov to withdraw from Fabio Maldonado fight
Fabio Maldonado has been stood up by Stanislav Nedkov for their UFC 142 date inside the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Jan. 14, 2012, after Visa issues forced the Bulgarian brawler off the South American fight card.
Tatame.com was the bearer of bad news earlier today.
Nedkov was fresh off a first round technical knockout of Luiz Cane at UFC 134 in his Octagon debut, extending his professional win streak to 12. He's a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but has also showed solid power, finishing half of his opponents via strikes.
When and where he gets to next demonstrate his ostentatious offense, remains to be seen.
UFC 142 will feature featherweight champion Jose Aldo, defending his 145-pound title against undefeated wrestler Chad Mendes. In addition, Vitor Belfort will strap on the gloves to try and ruin Anthony Johnson's debut at middleweight.
