The UFC returns to San Jose for the first time since the already legendary Dan Henderson-Shogun Rua fight. UFC on Fuel TV 4 heads to California on July 11.
The UFC returns to its Sin City home next week, as UFC heavyweight
champ Junior Dos Santos puts his belt on the line
against former titleholder Frank Mir.
Additionally, four other heavyweight matchups join the headliner on the evening's main card.
In anticipation of the pay-per-view event, UFC officials recently
announced that fans are invited to both a UFC 146 open workout session
and pre-event press conference.
UFC on FX 3 now has a location, as promotion officials announced Thursday that the June 8 event will take place at the BankAtlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A bantamweight bout between Edwin Figueroa, pictured, and Ken Stone is the latest addition to the card when the UFC returns to Atlantic City, N.J., on June 22.
It’s been several months since we’ve seen Mauricio “Shogun” Rua inside the Octagon. Rua, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, was defeated by Dan Henderson late in 2011 and has been recovering since.
Rua was announced as the next opponent for Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, but Jackson is set for double-knee surgery and his return is unknown. So, where does that leave Rua? Well, he told Guilherme Cruz in an exclusive interview with Tatame.
I’m waiting for a definition. I might fine in June or July, that’s when I hope to fight, but for now there’s no opponent in mind. I dream about being part of this card (when the UFC returns to Brazil later this year), even because it’s a huge event. I would really like to be part of it. Let’s wait for UFC to define something.
Rua competed in Brazil last year, defeating Forrest Griffin. It was reported that UFC president Dana White wanted to set up a rematch between Rua and Henderson, but Henderson declined according to White. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what the UFC has in store for Rua in terms of an opponent and a fight date.

The UFC returns to Japan on Saturday for the first time since 2000, and to mark the occasion the promotion will take its pay-per-view broadcast up a notch.
Fabricio Werdum is officially back in the UFC.
With a decision over Roy Nelson at this past
Saturday's UFC 143, Werdum has a little job security after a three-year
absence from the promotion.
Now, he'd like to fight in his home country when the UFC returns to
Brazil in an event targeted for June 2 at a location to be determined.
On February 25th, live from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, the UFC returns to the Land of the Rising Sun with a Lightweight title clash pitting division champion Frankie Edgar against challenger Ben Henderson in the UFC 143 headlining bout. Also featured will be former Light Heavyweight champ Quinton "Rampage" Jackson taking on Ryan Bader in the co-main event, and one-time 170-pound title challenger Jake Shields meets Yoshihiro Akiyama.
The UFC returns to the pay-per-view stage this weekend with UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit. And, as always, UFC President Dana White will be offering MMA fans a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on before, during, and after such a big event.
In the first episode of White’s video blog, we see plenty of action from this past Saturday’s UFC on FOX 2 card, an event boasting fights like Rashad Evans-Phil Davis, Chael Sonnen-Michael Bisping, and Demian Maia-Chris Weidman.
The blog shows you several moments before the fights and even more after, including Joey Beltran weeping after his knockout loss and a final segment between White and Weidman, the latter of whom cut several pounds in just a few short days to take on Maia on short notice.
“Go home and hit the buffet with (Matt) Serra,” White joked with Weidman in the backstage area. Serra, a former UFC champion, is one of Weidman’s primary coaches.

A surging veteran, Dennis Hallman, will meet a red-hot up-and-comer, Tony Ferguson, when the UFC returns to the Garden State for UFC on Fox 3 in New Jersey.
The UFC has set its return to Atlanta with UFC 146 on April 21.The event will likely take place at Philips Arena. UFC 146 will mark the first return to the Peach state since UFC 88 in 2008.
The UFC’s first stint in Atlanta is perhaps best remembered as the end of Chuck Liddell’s comeback attempt and the beginning of former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans rise to the top of the division.
The UFC will hope to match that card’s intensity and will likely begin announcing bouts for the unfilled April card soon.
Stay tuned to MMAFrenzy for more on this story, and all your MMA needs.
For the first time since 2008, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is headed to the Peach State.
It was announced on Tuesday's new edition of FUEL TV's
"UFC Live" that Atlanta's Philips Arena will play host to UFC 146, which
takes place April 21.
No bouts for the card were revealed.
A pair of winners of "The Ultimate Fighter" will meet in a lightweight bout when the UFC returns to Montreal in march. TUF 6 winner Mac Danzig faces TUF 8 winner Efrain Escudero at UFC 145.
With a little more than a month remaining before the UFC returns to FOX it appears the card has been infested by injury bugs, as bantamweight Eddie Wineland has been forced to withdraw from the January 28 event after suffering some sort of undisclosed damage while training for his bout with Johnny Bedford. Wineland was looking to snap a two-fight skid and will now have to wait a little longer before receiving his opportunity at course-correction.
News of Wineland’s status was reported by the UFC. Bedford, who himself was a replacement for Demetrious Johnson, is still expected to be booked for the show so opponents are currently being sought.
The lineup saw another contest between Paul Sass and Evan Dunham go down the drain yesterday after Sass suffered an injury. The British submission-specialist has since been replaced by Nik Lentz.
UFC on FOX 2 is highlighted by the tripleheader of Rashad Evans-Phil Davis, Chael Sonnen-Mark Munoz, and Michael Bisping-Demain Maia.
