Post-Fight In-Ring Interviews

I am usually unable to catch some of the UFC events when they air, and have to rely on sites to upload videos of the fights for me to watch on Sunday or later in the week. The problem with that is that most of the videos cut right after the ref announces the winner. Does anyone know a site that provides videos to the Post-Fight interviews that Joe Rogan does inside the cage? submitted by young_war [link] [4 comments]

Streaming Site Shuttered, Records Seized

As part of the on-going initiative against online piracy, Zuffa LLC, the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship® organization, was successful in taking down and seizing the records of www.greenfeedz.com, a website which illegally streamed a dozen UFC® Pay-Per-View events. The records detail the email addresses, user names, number of events users illegally streamed and the IP addresses of all users who registered to watch pirated UFC events. The website had illegally streamed all UFC PPVs from UFC 130 to UFC 142, and the user records date back to May 28, 2011. Zuffa will be pursuing these claims through its counsel.

Japanese UFC = Best UFC PPV Experience?

As a viewer of UFC PPVs since UFC 90, I have got to give thanks to the Japanese fans for setting such a unique example of what fans can be like during UFC events. The lack of boos, the patience of watching the strategy in the ground game, and cheering for foreigners and natives alike made viewing this UFC much more entertaining than both American and non-American events (cough cough, Brazil). I look forward to this becoming a regular thing, UFC in Japan. That's just how I feel about it, I imagine others share the same reaction (or not?). submitted by GarmaZed [link] [12 comments]

Home Betting System

So our group of friends have started watching UFC events together and i was looking into doing some low value betting on the events. I got friends who do fantasy football and stuff and kind of got the idea from them. I was looking into a system where you buy in for the night and its a point based win. So everyone picks their winners, and if they are right they get certain points, with the prelims being worth less than main card, and the main bout being worth the most. Then top point winners will win part of the pot. I dont know about seeing any additional point values for like predicting KO, TKO, Decision and/or Round. Was looking to see if anyone else knows any existing systems that could work or would like to help figure it out the particulars. If you want to use examples, i was hoping to have this set up for 144. Thanks! submitted by mrawls [link] [2 comments]

In my years as an avid MMA fan, I've been lucky enough to attend two live UFC events. With that said, I've only attended two live events. I'm a young guy; my friends like watching MMA, and I love drinking beer. So where does that leave me? Spending anywhere from 6 to 15 or more hours per month sitting in a bar, usually craning my neck staring at a flat screen TV, either sipping or slamming an adult beverage. The past several years spent watching UFC events in bars have been glorious. I love the atmosphere and I love those Saturday nights. With this experience, I've become accustomed to seeing the same little slices of fandom, almost entirely regardless of the bar. Without further ado, the following are the people or groups that I (and, I'm assuming, most BE readers) typically observe in their natural, violence-lusting, habitat. Weapon Related Sponsors Banned From UFC

Sponsors being banned from UFC events is nothing new, but the new banning of weapon related sponsors is certainly different. It appears that the initial pressure to ban these sponsors actually came from the UFC's new network home. The MMA Corner with the report: The MMA Corner has learned from sources close to the situation that the latest impact is that guns and ammunition sponsors, such as The Gun Store and Ammotogo.com, have been banned from events that take place on the Fox family of networks. *UPDATE * - The MMA Corner has learned that the ban includes companies related to guns, knives, ammunition, and hunting. It will go into effect on Jan. 23. The ban has been extended to all UFC events, not just those broadcast on the Fox family of networks. While The Gun Store has been a great sponsor for many fighters, it falls into that "immature company" sponsorship area. Where certain sponsors are great for a promotion just getting off the ground, a violent sport with gun related sponsors is a little unsettling and getting rid of them is not really a bad thing. Bellator moving to Friday nights for sixth season in 2012

Bellator Fighting Championships is moving its events from from Saturday to Friday nights beginning with the sixth season, which kicks off March 2. USAToday.com's Sergio Non first reported the news. Poll results: How many UFC events did you watch in the past four weeks?

It was one of the busiest stretches in Ultimate Fighting Championship history. In the course of just four weeks, the UFC held two pay-per-view events, a fight card broadcast on Spike TV and a one-hour FOX special - the company's first live fight on network television. But in this modern age of mixed martial arts, when some MMA pundits claim "over-saturation" of the sport, how many of the UFC's four events did you actually watch?

Bet you didn’t see the fan that ran into the cage at UFC on FOX last night, but we did...

Last night was all about pouring a bowl of Sour Cream & Onion potato chips and huddling around a laptop screen with your friends to watch the UFC prelims. It may have been the most historic evening of MMA in history, but we all spent it the same way we watch every other event; via choppy web-stream. Props to the UFC for keeping us geeking out within the confines of our living rooms for the entire night. By the time the UFC on FOX broadcast started, you were already 4-10 beers deep and probably missed the only blunder of the evening, which I conveniently captured and placed on YouTube for you. That makes two consecutive UFC events where a fan has entered the cage. It’s times like these that the original plans for UFC 1 with the moat/draw-bridge may not be such a bad idea.

Melvin Guillard collapses in tears backstage after loss to Joe Lauzon

As is the case with all televised productions, viewers never truly get a taste of everything involved when it comes to live UFC events. Those on the couch at home watch fights unfold with slick video packages in-between, while folks in the arena use downtime between bouts to head to the bathroom or buy a bubbly beverage. However, thanks to video blogs such as the one Dana White produces with regularity, fans have been treated to a better picture of what goes on behind the scenes. White’s latest submission is no exception, offering a look at what takes place backstage moments after a match-up’s conclusion with UFC 136 being the focus.
