Tokyo Days: UFC 144 Travel Journal
Through our work here at MMA Fighting, we've had the opportunity to travel the world covering UFC events. UFC 144 took us to Tokyo, Japan, and we wanted to share our experiences not just in bringing you news from the fights, but also our experience of the city. We were fortunate enough to have lots of friends in Tokyo over our many previous travels there. Thank you to Dean Marchand for helping us haul gear and shoot three locations at once, Daniel Herbertson for bringing us to the interesting Calico Cat Cafe, and Lance Walker for his lovely music with The White Papers.

This little bit of awesomeness comes courtesy of last weekend’s "Shoot the Shooto 2011″ card, which transpired in Tokyo, Japan and featured non other than Shooto legend Rumina Sato facing off with Belgian born fighter Nico Veressen. Sato, who you may remember as our Technique of the Year holder for 1999, has built his name off legendary battles with top competition like Takanori Gomi, Caol Uno (at the time), Joachim Hansen (again), and Hatsu Hioki. Veressan was 1-0 heading into the bout, with his lone win coming against a fellow 1-0 fighter.
Big ups to Cage Potato for the link and summary.
