Josh Barnett: “I don’t care how many licks you get in on me, I will get mine.”
Few heavyweights can say they’ve fought let alone beaten half the talent listed on Josh Barnett’s resume. The 34-year old has been fighting at a high level for nearly fifteen years, racking up wins over some of the sport’s best along the way including Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
While Barnett’s success is impressive to most it doesn’t surprise the 31-5 veteran who knew from an early age that a life based around some form of fighting was always his destiny.
“Even when I was a little child I fought kids that were older, that were bigger. I never quit. Even if someone got the best of me I didn’t stop and they ended up quitting. I don’t care how many licks you get in on me, I will get mine,” said Barnett in a recent interview with Showtime promoting his upcoming bout against Daniel Cormier. “That was just a mentality that most people didn’t possess, plus I have a mean streak that a lot of people didn’t have either.”
“I love what I do for a living and I don’t want to do anything else,” Barnett continued. “I meant to be a fighter. If MMA wasn’t around maybe I’d be a boxer, maybe I’d be in the military, but I was meant for combat.”
Barnett said his introduction to MMA came in high school when he saw UFC 2 and, after a few funny pit-stops, ended up fighting professional at the urging of a former coach. Barnett was hooked and the rest is history.

Ronda Rousey has a message for the Occupy Wall Street movement, and she’s half naked
Instead of complaining about everything that’s wrong with colorful signs (and really annoying drums) in front of buildings of people who don’t care what you have to say, Ronda Rousey is encouraging people to set up a cage and have hipsters fight one another for better interest rates in their checking accounts. Banks could sponsor Occupy MMA and have unemployed protesters serve beverages & hand out fliers. They (banks) could ultimately outfit a majority of the protesters with jobs, fixing the entire financial crisis they started! All would be well in lower Manhattan again, and if it happens, we owe it all to this half naked picture of Ronda Rousey.

You will daydream about this video of Ronda Rousey training all day
I’ve watched this video six times this morning. Somewhere between the third & fourth time, I found myself drinking jasmine tea and an order of vegan food was delivered to my apartment. I will probably spend the remainder of the day thinking about Ronda Rousey twirling inside a ring while beatnik jazz music keeps me walking to a mellow-dramatic beat. For the moment, I don’t care that these chicken patties aren’t made of chicken, nor do I care to understand what ‘yuka’ is. Everything is glorious in the universe of wherever Ronda Rousey is preparing for her fight with Miesha Tate on March 3rd, and this video proves that. [Source]

Quinton Jackson: “I never claimed to be a martial artist…I’m a street fighter.”
Fan-favorite light heavyweight Quinton Jackson may compete as a professional Mixed Martial Artist but the 33-year old UFC star is quick to distance himself from the label based on his mental approach to the sport. While his peers continually look for competitive advantages by studying countless hours of tape and refining their abilities in every available discipline, Jackson prefers to maintain the same approach he has since his younger years in Memphis.
“I never claimed to be a martial artist or a guy who is good at everything. I’m a street fighter,” said Jackson in an interview with the UFC promoting his bout this weekend at UFC 144 against Ryan Bader. “There’s a lot of things I don’t care about – I don’t care to know what my opponent is doing, I don’t care to know his skills and stuff like that – cause I’m a brawler. In a street fight you walk up to the guy and you start fighting. You’ve got no tape on this guy.”
“I could give a rat’s ass if I can beat Ryan Bader or not,” said the former PRIDE/UFC champion. “I just want to put on the best show the world has ever seen.”
Jackson Says He’s Faced Better Wrestlers than All-American Bader
Jackson-Bader will serve as co-headliners on a card featuring six other scraps including a main event between lightweight title-holder Frankie Edgar and top contender Benson Henderson. Things start on PPV at 10:00 PM EST this Saturday with preliminary pairings airing on Facebook/FX in the preceding hours.

Benson Henderson: “I don’t care about winning rounds…I fight to end the fight.”
When UFC lightweight Benson Henderson steps into the Octagon at UFC 144 he has designs on making history with his performance. Not only is Henderson aiming at becoming the first WEC alumnus to win a linear UFC title but being the first man to finish 155-pound champion Frankie Edgar in the process.
Henderson opened up on his intentions in a recent interview with the UFC promoting the February 25 event where he explained, “I don’t care about winning rounds. I want to win the fight. I want to end the fight. That’s what I do. I fight to end the fight.”
Henderson Surprised by the Speed of His Success
The 28-year old is motivated by more than the gold Edgar currently wears around his waist, recognizing the significance of every opportunity as the future is far from guaranteed.
“Every fight I have is going to be the fight of my life, the fight of my career,” said the 15-2 Henderson. “This will be the career-defining moment for the rest of my life.”
Edgar’s title-defense against Henderson will headline the show with some of the other seven featured PPV bouts including Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon, Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Jake Shields, and Quinton Jackson vs. Ryan Bader.
